Company-Wise Aptitude Patterns โ TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture
Different companies test different aptitude skills at varying difficulty levels. Understanding company-specific patterns is a powerful advantage in placement preparation. This lesson maps the aptitude structures of India's top IT recruiters so you can tailor your preparation and spend your time on topics each company actually tests.
TCS NQT
TCS National Qualifier Test has three sections with separate time limits: Numerical Ability (26 questions), Verbal Ability (24 questions), and Reasoning Ability (30 questions). Priority quant topics are number system (HCF, LCM, remainders), probability, and time and work. Difficulty is moderate. Sectional cutoffs apply independently, so no section can be neglected even if one is your strongest area.
Infosys
The Infosys aptitude test includes 10 quantitative questions, 15 reasoning questions, and 40 verbal questions. Verbal ability accounts for over 60 percent of the total, making it the dominant section. Reasoning is harder than TCS โ expect complex seating arrangements and puzzle-based questions. Prepare verbal ability heavily and practice longer reading comprehension passages than those used for other companies.
Wipro NLTH and Accenture
Wipro National Level Talent Hunt has three separately timed sections: Verbal (22 questions in 18 minutes), Quantitative (18 questions in 18 minutes), and Reasoning (20 questions in 18 minutes). Speed is the primary differentiator โ under 60 seconds per question. Practice completing 20 questions in 18 minutes repeatedly. Accenture tests cognitive ability alongside a communication assessment โ clear, structured reasoning is valued over raw calculation speed.
Interview Tips
Two weeks before your placement drive, identify which companies are visiting and download their previous year papers from reliable sources. Spend at least 2 focused days per company on targeted preparation using their specific format. Pattern recognition from company-specific mocks helps you immediately identify question types during the actual test, saving several seconds per question across the full paper.
